The Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) has been applauded for her sterling Performance in the first quarter of 2018

This was made known during the Quarterly Performance Review of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly by the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.

The Chairman House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Rt. Hon Usoro Akpanusoh stated that Governor Udom Emmanuel's led administration is passionate about creating a workable environment for the Board to operate towards increasing the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to reflect the true potentiats of the state.

The Executive Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS), Mr. Okon Okon stated that the automation of tax process and administration has improved the Internally Generated Revenue and sealed leakages.

He however assured that the Board will record more progress by awakening the consciousness of tax payers to their civic obligations through tax sensitization and awareness campaign.

Present at the meeting were; Elder Nse Atang (ED, Finance), Dr. (Hon) Ekere Afia (ED, Planning, Strategy and Research), Mr. Leo Umana (ED, Enforcement and Recovery), Mrs Ikemesit Ekpro (Board Secretary), Barr.
