Symbiotic Synergy

Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) and Akwa Ibom State Oil, Gas and Maritime Operations Regulatory Committee (ASOGMORC) collaborates to enhance revenue derivable from Oil, Gas and Maritime sector.

The objectives of the synergy is to share information, unearth tax evaders and establish liabilities for tax defaulters within the sector.

The Executive Chairman of AKIRS, Mr. Okon Okon has stated that professionalism will be exhibited as all actions to recovery of accrued revenue to the government of Akwa Ibom State in will be subject to the rules of taxation within the ambit of the law.

He however assured that AKIRS has no intentions to scare away investors but to awaken the need for companies to be socially responsible by giving back to the society in which they operate.

This will boost the Internally Generated Revenue Revenue (IGR) and further provide fund for government to provide more life touching projects for the good of the citizenry.
